Your Invitation

I will never forget the first time I stood in St Peter’s Square in Rome.  It was the first time I had ever been outside of Australia.  I remember the walk towards the Basilica and the Dome of St Peter’s peeking through the streets as we got closer and closer until all of I sudden I was standing in the square.  I had the moment of awe as I looked to the left and the right at the circle of saints, popes, angels and Jesus himself – I was literally surrounded. I remember Hebrews 12 came to mind – ‘Therefore, since we are surrounded my a great cloud of witnesses’.  I thought ‘wow – here it is – the great cloud of witnesses!’  Not only did I feel a sense I was part of something bigger than myself, but that I was not alone.  

That’s why I am so excited about the theme of Ignite Conference 2027: Surrounded.  

This theme captures the “great cloud of witnesses,” and a sense of belonging, courage, and perseverance. It is a reminder that we are not alone - we are surrounded — by those who have gone before us, by one another, and by Jesus Himself. So we throw off what hinders, fix our eyes on Jesus, and run with perseverance this race marked out. For us. (Hebrews 12:1-2). 

SURROUNDED is a call to remember who we are and whose we are. Hebrews 12 reminds us that we are surrounded by a great cloud of witnesses — men and women who have gone before us, friends running beside us, and Jesus Himself who leads the way. We are not alone. We are part of something so much bigger than our doubts, our fears, or this moment. Because of that, we throw off what hinders, fix our eyes on Jesus — the Author and Perfecter of our faith — and we press on with courage. This conference is about belonging, perseverance, and the bold confidence that comes from knowing we are surrounded, strengthened, and called to keep running. 

Hosted in FOUR locations this year!  In Australia – June is Darwin (NT), July in Broken Bay (NSW) and September in Brisbane QLD), and for the first time internationally in October in Christchurch, NZ. Ignite Conference 2027 will be a powerful encounter with Jesus and His Church — an experience of being surrounded. Over these days, encounter the Church alive in vibrant music, speakers, dance, media, sacraments, workshops, and worship.
